- Animal Ethics Committee
he Animal Ethics Committee (CEUA) aims to ensure compliance with the legislation applicable to the breeding and/or use of animals for teaching and research at UFSC. Through educational, consultative, advisory, and oversight activities, CEUA does not seek to discourage the use of animals, but rather to promote their rational and responsible use. Its actions focus on refining techniques and encouraging the adoption of alternative models that reduce animal use and improve efficiency in both research and teaching.

- Human Research Ethics Committee
The Human Research Ethics Committee (CEPSH) is an interdisciplinary, deliberative, consultative, and educational collegiate body affiliated with the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, while remaining independent in its decision-making. It was established to protect the interests, dignity, and integrity of research participants and to contribute to the development of research in accordance with ethical standards.
